INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

Clean Water Project-then and now (2)

While Endwell Rotary is an affiliate of Rotary International and have supported the Polio iradication project and other Clean Water Projects around the world. We partnered with a Ithaca and Nimmondsburg clubs to provide clean water to a village in Haiti.  We have provided medicines and equipment to Africa, South America and the Ukraine.

This past year we provided a scholarship to the Health for Haiti program managed by SUNY Broome.  This accredited program provides students direct experience providing humanitarian aid to Haiti.  The program can be viewed at www.healthforhaiti.wordpress.com.

Health for Hati

The club is now considering requesting a $60,000 Global Grant from Rotary International to provide solar power to the Health for Haiti project in order to operate new waste water treatment equipment and to provide bathroom facilities to improve health and sanitation.

Endwell Rotary is an affiliate of Rotary International which operates one of the highest rated humanitarian Foundations in the world.  The single largest project has been the eradication of Polio.  Today Polio is limited to just three countries and we are very close to ending this terrible disease.  The Endwell Rotary Club supports this cause.  Each dollar we contribute is matched by two dollars from the Gates Foundation.

Rotary International provides opportunities for group study exchanges and Rotary Peace Fellows.  Go to www.Rotary.org to see all of the opportunities that Rotary has to offer.  Rotary also provides the ability of members around the world to exchange ideas on topics of interest.
