Endwell Rotary is a service club that was formed in 1954. The founding project for the club was to establish a park for the Community of Endwell. Within a few years with land donated by IBM, Highland Park was formed. The club has provided many capital improvements through the years and is a co-leader of the Annual 4th of July Extravaganza that brings thousands to our community for a free day of entertainment and fireworks.
Today the club provides a fun and informative environment for leaders in our community to exchange ideas and take action. Our weekly lunch meetings last about an hour and include a speaker on some topic of interest about our community, economic development, projects, education, special needs here and abroad. Some of our activities include:
- Provide scholarships to high school seniors
- Perform needs and opportunity assessments for our community
- Seek partnerships in the community to address needs and opportunities
- Select and sponsor 5 to 6 juniors to attend a week long leadership training course that is one of the best in the country. Below are 2014 Attendees.
- Support community events:
- July 4 Extravaganza
- Dick’s Senior Open
- Spiedie Fest Rotary Day
- Pre-election pancake breakfast
- Christmas luncheon for Marion Apartments
- Community BBQs
- Provide support to organizations serving the community and during periods of natural disaster.
- Manage an adopt-a-highway and develop projects in the community.
- Develop and support projects in the world that meet the six focus areas of the Rotary Foundation.
